I have a new home on the Web, and from this vantage point hope to accomplish several things:
1) I very much want to get the word out about Redeemer Evangelical Presbyterian Church. The Lord is doing wonderful things in northern Virginia as He lifts up a new witness to the gospel through the agency of Faith EPC in Kingstowne. We will be ministering in Lorton (in Fairfax County) and Woodbridge (Prince William County) primarily, but will go wherever the Lord leads throughout the region and the world. Feel free to contact me any time (through the comments would be a good approach) with questions about Redeemer.
2) I want to bring a strong voice for the gospel to the Washington metro area and across the Web. Those who used to read my previous blog, Ecumenical Insanity, know that I am uncompromising when it comes to the truth of the gospel, and what I believe are its implications for daily personal and social life. While The Reformed Pastor will not be a commentary on news events, I will deal with them when they impinge on the Christian faith and the work we have to do in the world.
3) I want to use this space for the edification of the saints. I’m going to post occasional biblical commentary, quotes from Church Fathers, theologians, and contemporary scholars, meditations on biblical, theological, and ethical themes and issues, etc. While I will never hesitate to speak the truth, I hope that the tone here will be both irenic and winsome.
That should do it for the first time out. Thanks for looking in.
