Folks in the Seattle area who have never been exposed to the Islamochristian ruminations of the Rev. Ann Holmes Redding might be interested in joining her for any even this week, courtesy of the Interfaith Council of Washington:

Thur., June 14th through July 26th, 7:00PM –9:00PM at the Interfaith Community Church located at 1763 NW 62nd Street in Ballard (98107). Join Jamal Rahman and Ann Holmes Redding in this continuing series of Teachings and Sharing called “Light Upon Light” to delight in verses from the Qur’an, the utterances of Rumi and wisdom from Christian Scripture. In addition to Teachings we will meditate and chant. Cost: $88.00 for all 7 weeks or $15.00 per class. To register call 206.633.0150 or email Jamal. Jamal Rahman is a Muslim Sufi minister. Anne Holmes Redding is an Episcopalian Priest and a practicing Muslim. “O God, grant me Light in my heart.” ~ Prayer of the Prophet Mohammad “Your word is a lantern to my feet and a light on my path.” ~ Psalms 119:105.

In any readers do go to this event, I’d be interested in your take on it. I would also be interested in hearing Bishop Geralyn Wolf’s response to the fact that Rev. Redding is “teaching” from both Koran and Scripture, which seems contrary to at least the spirit of the Bishop’s directive (can’t say about the letter, since we don’t actually have a text, just an e-mail notification).
