Never let it be said that the World Council of Churches doesn’t have a flair for the dramatic–dramatically dumb, that is. As part of the ongoing “Decade to Overcome Violence” (which dedicated a year to the United States, but has never said a hostile word about either Hamas or al-Qaeda), a WCC delegation visited Germany:
On a visit to the German Federal Defence Ministry in Berlin on Tuesday evening, members of a delegation of the World Council of Churches (WCC) asked questions about German arms sales and about whether wars, such as the Iraq war, can ever solve problems.
They were in Germany, and asked whether wars “can ever solve problems.” Hmmm, let’s see. Hitler, Nazism, Holocaust, conquest, slave labor, medical experiments, concentration camps…nope, I guess they’re right. I can’t come up with any problem war has ever solved. Glad we got that cleared up. Next?
