Adult theological re-education at the congregational level is an urgent need within American churches today. It is essential to Christian formation. And from my own experience and from a number of studies, I know that it has been a source of re-vitalization in hundreds of congregations around the country. [Emphasis added.]

I think they intend to use special “re-education camps” for that purpose, out in the woods sort of thing, ya know?

That very thought occurred to me, Dr. D.

So the Borg will be in charge of “re-education.” I can see it now:
“Resistance is futile.”

I just did a “tongue in cheek” cartoon on my blog about the rare “Conservative Episcopalian”. It may be truer than I thought. Your link to Titusonenine no longer works.

I see from your snide comment about UUism that you believe that all UUs are atheist. I think you’d be very surprised if you were to ever step foot into one of our congregations. Unlike others, we are not monolithic.

I didn’t say ALL UUs are atheists. My late mother-in-law was a UU, and she said that when her congregation called a new pastor who actually believed in God, it caused a real ruckus. Borg’s problem is that he takes God–or what passes for God in his thinking–way too seriously for most UUs to be comfortable with him. Many UUs would think him a positive fundamentalist!
