The mainline church-supported U.S. Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation sent a representative to talk to the U.N. Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People earlier this week. Speaking on behalf of the United Methodist Church, the American Friends Service Committee, and other mainline affiliates of the USCEIO was…well, let’s let her speak for herself:
That would be Judith LeBlanc: vice chair of the Communist Party USA and steering committee member for the USCEIO. I hope all the Methodists, Quakers and other mainline Christians whose offerings help support the work of the USCEIO are proud of their voice at the U.N.

David,
This is just unbelievable that this is the mainline Churches reprehensive. Did you notice that she spoke of a sixty year occupation, and later referred to achieving an overcoming of the complete occupation? Also I have been trying to keep track of the attempt to get a referendum on the ballet in California to divest from Israel and had not found that it was successful but she uses the word ‘successfully.’ Hmmm. She is really encouraging attacks on American Jews by attacking Jewish organizations (Jewish lobby).

She lied. This is from an interview with one of the activist:
“Two and half months into the campaign, we don’t have a realistic count of the signatures gathered. In early December, we plan to hold a statewide conference call with our county and regional coordinators to see how many signatures we have gathered at that point. Still, because most of the petitions are being circulated via the Web site and e-mail attachments, we won’t have a good grasp of the numbers until mid-January.” There is not yet success for the divestment in California.

Gee, what a surprise! Good catch, Viola. Not that a person such as LeBlanc would recognize the truth if it came up and bit her on her hammer-and-sickle tattoo…

“”I hope all the Methodists, Quakers and other mainline Christians whose offerings help support the work of the USCEIO are proud of their voice at the U.N.””
I have found Mainline Pew Sitters are good at denying involvement.
If you mention this story to a Pew Sitter the usual response is: “my church does not believe that” and then they drop their offering into the plate and go home.
