I just found out that my state doesn’t really think I’m a person.

I think you can assume that attacks and persecution against Mormons and Christians are going to escalate significantly.
Read this article and see chiling video footage of attacks on a Christian group in San Francisco Friday night.

This entire “gay marriage” issue is based upon semantics and misunderstandings. First of all, civilly performed marriages (getting married by a Justice ofthe Peace) are not considered “marriage” by religious demoninations who perform marriage rites. So all those civilly married hetero couples (like me and my wife) are not considered to be “married” in the eyes of God. As such, most Christians and Jews regard such “civil marriages” as “civil unions” since only marriage rites performed in the eyes of God (a religious rite/sacrament) are regarded as genuine “marriages”.
In essence, then, these militant gay people want the STATE to FORCE RELIGIONS TO MODIFY THEIR THEOLOGIES AND PERFORM GAY MARRIAGES. This says MORE about the gay community’s ignorance of religion and theology than anything else.
Since gay persons of both genders currently enjoy all the benefits which heterosexual couples who were united in civil ceremonies also enjoy, I really don’t see what their problem is EXCEPT for their IGNORANCE of the difference between CHURCH and STATE.
BTW, my wife and I have four children. One son and one daughterhave declared themselves to be gay. We – our family – embraced them for their honesty and assured them that their place in our family is as secure as ever. We do not condemn them for their sexual orientation, which we know is NOT their choice. Rather, we are supporting them in establishing themselves as independant persons capable of contributing to society and their families. Our gay daughter has been with the same partner for 11 years now. Neither my daughter nor my “daughter-in-law”, so to speak, were against California Proposition 8 since they are both educated women who understand a semantic blind alley when they see one.
