Who does? The Obama re-election campaign. How stupid? This stupid:

That’s on the campaign’s Tumblr page. Underneath it the caption says, “If Mitt Romney and a few Republican senators get their way, employers could be making women’s health care decisions for them” (the link is to an objective source another Obama campaign site).

Read it carefully. It’s a permission slip for employees to obtain birth control. They are actually saying that to oppose being forced against one’s religious beliefs to pay for someone else’s contraception is the same thing as forbidding that person from obtaining it on their own. At least that is what they want those who are too brain-damaged to think for themselves to believe.

AllahPundit at Hot Air and Michael Dougherty of Business Insider go into more detail (especially Dougherty, whose article is entitled “The Obama Campaign Just Told Some Massive Lies in the Fight Over the Contraception Mandate”), and I’d urge you to check them out. To me, the story here is a presidential campaign expressing its utter contempt for the American people.

PS–This post is not meant to say anything about who you should or should not vote for, or why (it’s easy to make the case that there’s been plenty of nonsense spouted by Republican candidates, too). It’s about the level to which this year’s political campaigns have already sunk, and it’s only March 1.
